Upgrade/Downgrade Profile Functionality

Paid events often come with an upgrade option that lets users unlock exclusive access to the event if their interest rises. And the ability to downgrade gives them refund assurance. 

To give users the flexibility to choose we now have the ability to upgrade or downgrade their profiles. With this feature, users can unlock exclusive event content or revert to their initial registration benefits. 

How to Configure the Upgrade/Downgrade Profile Functionality? 

• In case you wish to enable this feature at your event, log in to the backend and go over to advanced settings. 

• Enable the “Upgrade/Downgrade User Profile” toggle. Once the toggle is enabled the Upgrade & Downgrade button will reflect on the top-right corner of the platform on the front end for logged-in users. 

Downgrading a User

• The user profile will be downgraded manually from the backend. 
• To make sure users are able to utilize the Downgrade feature, a CMS page needs to be added in the backend with its name as “Refund Success” and the slug as “refund-success”.
• Please note that an automatic refund process cannot be initiated therefore, clients need to adopt the existing refund procedure on their end. 
• Clients will be notified via email that the profile needs to be downgraded from the backend manually (keeping their relevant email in BCC).

• An email template has also been added in the email templates section with the name DOWNGRADE_PROFILE so that attendees are notified if they downgrade their profile. 

• Please ensure you add the email address of the concerned person from the client’s account department in the BCC section of the email template. 

Frontend Experience

• Logged-in users will see an Upgrade & Downgrade button on the top right drop-down of the platform. 

• On clicking on Upgrade, they are logged out of the platform and taken to the payment page, where they can make an additional payment and their package will be upgraded. 
• In case a user decides to Downgrade, they are logged out of the event and taken to the refund page.
