If you have enabled embedded chat for your event, then you can also activate the feature of Ad Hoc Chatrooms. With this feature enabled, you can allow the users to create customized chatrooms on the fly, and invite other attendees to join by sharing the chatroom link with them.
User types that can create Ad Hoc chat rooms
- Event Admins
- Booth Admins
By default, this feature is enabled for Event Admins and Booth Admins.
Note: The custom chatroom will not be listed in the 'Join Other Chatrooms' list.
How to configure settings for Ad Hoc chatrooms?
To enable the feature of Ad Hoc chatroom, please follow the steps mentioned below:
1. Go to Event Settings > Chat Settings > turn on the toggle "Allow users to create Ad Hoc chat room".
2. You can also configure which type of users you want to allow to create ad hoc chatrooms. On the same path, you will will find a dropdown selector "User types that can create Ad Hoc chatrooms". You can multi-select multiple user roles to allow them to create ad hoc chatrooms on the event day.
3. Always click on the Save button at the bottom right corner of the page to save your settings.
